How will the Dutch government treat your personal data?

If you have a question or comment, you can fill in a form. This form will require you to submit some personal data, such as your name and e-mail address. Any personal data you submit will only be used by the Dutch government for the intended purpose. If you only want to ask a question, the Dutch government will not use your data to send you brochures or suchlike. However, the data may be used for investigation purposes, for instance when criminal offences are committed or criminal statements are made via the site.

The Dutch government will not store personal data any longer than is necessary for the purpose for which you submitted them.

What is the Personal Data Protection Act (WBP)?

The most important regulations for treating personal data are laid down in the Personal Data Protection Act (WBP). Compliance with the WBP is supervised by the Dutch Data Protection Authority (DPA).
